Flipkart UPI Launched: Now Do UPI Payments Using Flipkart
On February 25th, Flipkart officially announced the rollout of UPI payments through its app, confirming the integration of UPI on its platform.
Earlier in January, Flipkart had initiated a pilot phase for UPI payments, targeting a select group of 10,000 users. Therefore, the full-scale launch of UPI on Flipkart doesn’t come as a surprise.
Currently, the UPI banner is visible on Flipkart’s platform, indicating the readiness for UPI transactions.
The UPI functionality on Flipkart will enable users to perform various transactions such as scanning and paying, sending money, and shopping online. Additionally, more features are expected to be announced soon.
Flipkart and Axis Bank have teamed up for new payment options. The launch of Flipkart UPI is a big challenge for rivals like Amazon Pay UPI, PhonePe, and Paytm.
How To Activate Flipkart UPI?
1) Update your Flipkart app from the Play Store.
2) Go to “Categories” section & scroll down & visit Scan & Pay offer.
3) Now add your bank account & for that, you will get 10 SuperCoins.
4) You can now perform 5 scans & pay transactions to get 50 super coins.
5) Flat Rs 25 OFF on your first Flipkart order using UPI.
Flipkart & Phonepe UPI Story:
Many users have doubts about why Flipkart is introducing UPI payments on its platform when it already owns the PhonePe app. The answer is straightforward: Flipkart and PhonePe are no longer under the same ownership. They have been separated entities for some time now.
Given the current issues faced by the Paytm app, this presents an opportune moment for Flipkart to launch its own UPI app and make its entry into the payments market.
Flipkart UPI Payments Features & Benefits:
Currently, not all features are displayed in the banner, but Flipkart has highlighted a few key features, including:
- Scan & Pay to any QR Code.
- Send money to family & friends.
- Shop online & pay using UPI.
Benefits:
- Get a Rs 25 instant discount for the 1st Flipkart order using Flipkart UPI.
- Get 10 SuperCoins for 1st Scan & Pay.
My Opinion:
Overall, Flipkart is seizing a significant opportunity with the issues faced by Paytm. Launching UPI on Flipkart’s platform will undoubtedly assist in expanding its user base and revenue. While not all features have been announced yet, I’ll be sure to keep you updated as they are unveiled.
